Your main tasks

As a Machinist Manager you will be responsible for the following.

Essential Functions
  • Is a ‘go-to’ resource for employee questions related to all department processes, policies and practices. Leads the department in the manager’s absence and operates as a servant leader to the team
  • Support department manager in employee matters such as performance feedback sessions, performance management, goal setting, corrective action, discipline, and general management
  • Provide input in recruitment and selection of new employees, including reviewing resumes, conducting interviews and/or assessments and practical tests.
  • Make recommendations to manager regarding position changes, transfers, promotions, and other employee related actions.
  • Approve timesheets and time off requests, travel expenses and other departmental expenses per the agreed upon authority levels as/when required
  • Is a Technical resource for all IM employees and provides help and assistance to the department manager with regard to engineering drawing review, managing work orders, and development of personnel to cover essential needs within the department
  • Machine parts in accordance with engineering drawings
  • Be a source of expertise and lead IM employees to improved performance and output


Your profile

Requirements
Software programs required: 5 years of Mastercam, Excel, experience with an ERP system helpful

Other Requirements:
  • Maintain the equipment in the shop to ensure no loss of production due to machine down time or maintenance
  • Maintain tooling for machines making sure the machinists have the correct tools required to handle all situations
  • ‘Cradle to grave’ work: program, select tools, setup machine, run/check part
  • Willing and able to run one-off/prototype and occasional low volume production
  • Vertical mill experience, Haas VF experience
  • Lathe experience desirable
  • Ability to monitor & assist team, and generally be responsible for shift as needed
  • Self-starter and ability to work as a team member

Compensation: $80,000 to $90,000
